Last Saturday 4 Young Reporters interviewed Mari Paz because she won Amancio Ortega’s scholarship. Here are the things that we said:
4YR- Hello Mari Paz can we ask you some questions, please?
MARI PAZ- Yes, of course.
4YR- What do you had to do to get the scholarship?
MARI PAZ- There were two tests, the first was the listening and reading almost I not prepared myself, and then I had to make an oral exercise with Skype so I were practising every christmas.
4YR- Do you have some people to help you?
MARI PAZ- The second test that I do were with a native who help me to prepare the speech and to improve the pronunciation.
4YR- Mari Paz, do you decide to go to Canada?
MARI PAZ- Yes but I have not yet made up my mind about it.
4YR- Are you glad with the scholarship that you win?
MARI PAZ- Yes, because it is a difficult and important thing that I’ll just have one chance.
4YR- When you told your parents you were going to do it what do you say?
MARI PAZ- It was a very good opportunity and I did not have to let it go.
4YR- Do you have anything to add?
MARI PAZ- Now is the time to do all the paper work to finally leave, and I’ll take this opportunity to see the world and other cultures to improve my English.
4YR- Other things to comment before we finish…
MARI PAZ- I’m going at the end of August, before leaving to catch a plane. I’ll live two or three days in Madrid with the other Spanish people who have the scholarship. The scholarship is Amancio Ortega. A friend also opted for the scholarship but unfortunately she did not pass the test. I knew about the scholarship because I talked to her teacher and a girl from Albelda. Her name is Irene who got it two years ago. I’ll do first degree there in Newfoundland (Canada) but still do not know what subjects to study.
4YR- Thank you very much Mari Paz, we are glad to interview you like this and thank you again.
MARI PAZ- You are welcome guys.
