We visited this city in order to see in live all those art pieces that we have been studying along the term. Despite our adventure started very early in the morning, at 5:45, we did not mind getting up early because the trip was worth it! So, we arrived to the capital city at 10:30h in the morning and our first visit was to the Retiro’s park where we had a snack and visited the Glass Palace.

Later, we went to the Prado’s museum where we stayed for an hour and a half more or less although…it was very short time! Thanks to the tournament our teachers had prepared, we could see paintings from authors such as Roger Van Weyden, El Bosco, Tiziano, El Greco, Rubens, Velazquez, Goya…and telling the truth, it was very well prepared because we put into practice what we had learnt in class. When we finished, we went to another museum, to the Reina Sofia’s one in order to see the Guernica, a painting that we all know because we have worked in teams about it but we got impressed by the dimensions of it.

Moments of waiting.

Waiting time…

Eventually, we were walking through the streets (taking advantage from the sunny day) until we reached the Congreso de los Diputados and the Mayor Square where we had a bit of free time.

At 17:30 we started our journey back home but we first saw the Santiago Bernabeu’s Stadium (what was also considered as a piece of art by some students). When we were middle way back home, we stopped to have a snack in Medinacelli, where, from the distance, we could see its Triumph Arch… Luck was in our side!

It is true that it was a real adventure where we could put into practice our art knowledge and understand why these museums are so famous…no wonder least! Travelling is always a good way to continue learning and as San Agustin from Hipona said: “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page”.

Finally, we want to thank our teachers, Mar and Marijo, their wonderful photographs.
