My favorite movie, "Intouchables".

“Intouchables” (The Intouchables) is a French movie filmed in 2011. With François Cluzet as Philippe, and Omar Sy as Driss, this movie it’s based on a real story about a quadriplegic man and his young assistant. It’s a mix between drama and comedy, with lots of funny moments, but also a sad argument with touching and unexpected situations. I recommend this movie because it represents lots of important things, such as friendship between two people with nothing in common.

Philippe is a millionaire man who lives in a huge house. He has some people working for him, like Yvonne or Magalie. Because of his situation, he can’t move anything but his head, so he’s always in his wheelchair. He needs daily special cares and massages. He can’t do almost anything by his own. The reason of his limitation was a paragliding accident some years ago. He was near to death, but, fortunately, he survived.

Driss is a man who lives with his family: his uncle and aunt, who adopted him from his parents, in Senegal, when he was 8, and his siblings. They are a low class family, often involved in problems related to drugs. He spend a lot of his time out with friends, some of them in the same situation.

Driss starts working with Philippe. At first, they don’t really get along, but, when they actually start to know each other, they become close friends. Driss is the optimistic friend Philippe needs to realize that life is worth, and that his limitation does not mean he can’t be happy. Philippe teaches Driss how to take care of him, and they become the perfect team.

I love this film because it is a beautiful story about true friendship and overcoming. With an amazing casting and a wonderful soundtrack, Intouchables is my favorite movie. I laughed and cried a lot, and I like to rewatch it every time I can. I never get tired of it, and I know I won’t. I believe that it will become a classic film in the French film industry.

It’s a true piece of art, showing the true story behind this two amazing main characters.
